

The History and Archaeology Students’ Association of the Department of History and Archaeology, organized an ‘A/L History Revision Seminar’ targeting the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination-2022, on the 13th December 2022, at Elapatha Maha Vidyalaya, Ratnapura, with the participation of A/L students from Elapatha Maha Vidyalaya and Palawela Sri Rathnakara Maha Vidyalaya.
The revision seminar consisted of 03 sessions covering the MCQ questions, Map Marking and Structural Essay-type questions based on the A/L History past exam papers and the syllabuses. Most importantly, each student was given individual attention in solving and clarifying subject-related matters that arose from the sessions and past papers, especially regarding Map Marking. In addition, a motivational speech was delivered to the students with the objectives of motivating them for the exam and making them aware of future prospects towards and beyond university education.
The resource persons of the seminar were Lect. (Prob) Damith Lahiru Ranagala, Ms. Bhagya Medagedara, Temporary Assistant Lecturer, Ms. Ravini Wimalasuriya, Temporary Assistant Lecturer, and 10 students representing the History and Archaeology Students’ Association. The seminar was much appreciated by the participating students and they were grateful to the university for conducting such a successful seminar.
