The University of Sri Jayewardenepura started the year 2018 with grace. The university community gathered near the Shrine roomand the Bo tree on the 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0of January 2018 at 8.30 am, to eremoniously begin the year with a religious ceremony. The Vice Chancellor, the Deans of the seven faculties, Registrar and other representatives continued to implement the traditions of the event such as boiling milk. The tradition suggests that the year will be filled with success and happiness similar to the overflowing pot of milk. The traditions were conducted while Pirith was being chanted blessing the activities of the university.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n
