SUMMARY:Guest Talk on National Index Numbers Construction and Applications
DESCRIPTION:Index numbers in Statistics serve as a measure to study the change in the effects of all the factors that cannot be measured or estimated on a direct basis. In Sri Lanka\, the Department of Census and Statistics constructs the key national index numbers used such as Consumer Price Index and other important price and wage indices. Therefore\, in order to improve students’ knowledge of the construction and applications of national index numbers\, the Department of Social Statistics is organizing a Guest Talk on National Index Numbers Construction and Applications on the 3rd of May\, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the H2\, 2nd Floor\, Sri Sumangala Mansion. \nAs the guest speaker\, Dr. (Ms.) Nirosha Disanayake\, Director (Statistics)\, Prices and Wages Division\, Department of Census and Statistics will share her knowledge and experience throughout the session. Students who are interested in the topic can participate in the guest talk.
